Hello everyone, and welcome to Illuminating Astrology. It’s time to look ahead at February and talk about both the astrological weather and the good and difficult electional days ahead.
February is quite a remarkable month astrologically. There are several important things happening, including a Saturn–Neptune conjunction in Aries, a strong Aquarius concentration of planets (stellium), and Mercury slowing down and going retrograde toward the end of the month.
Let's look first at the broader astrological picture
Saturn and Neptune Moving Into Aries: A Major Turning Point
The most important event in February is the movement of Neptune and Saturn into Aries. Neptune has just recently entered Aries, and Saturn will join Neptune on February 14, forming a conjunction.
For many people, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces was a time of disillusionment — difficulty knowing what is true, and what can be trusted. On a global level, we’ve seen propaganda, information wars, and confusion around belief systems. Pisces is connected to spirituality, faith, the sense of unity, but with Saturn Neptune in them for many it was a time of having to address emotional grief, sense of disillusionment or seeking clarity in information and emotionally. Many of those cycles are now coming to an end.
Neptune moving into Aries suggests a new start, a new chapter. Many astrologers consider this transit especially significant because it happens at 0 degrees of Aries, a point that occurs only once every 160–165 years. It represents the dissolution of the old and the beginning of a new chapter. The dissolution may involve old structures of power, control, and ideology, including political systems and belief frameworks. This can be challenging, but it is also exciting and full of potential.
People with strong personal placements in Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn will feel this most strongly, but this is a global influence that affects everyone.
The Aquarius Stellium: Collective Energy and Expansion of the Mind
Another major theme this month is the stellium of planets in Aquarius, meaning four or more planets traveling together. In February, we have Pluto, Mars, the Sun, Venus, and Mercury all moving through Aquarius.
When planets come together like this, they join their forces. Each planet brings its own archetype, but together they create a much stronger influence on culture, politics, education, art, and collective consciousness.
Aquarius is associated with humanitarian ideals, science, innovation, and the future. We may see:
new ideas in politics and social systems
shifts in education and science
humanitarian concerns coming to the forefront
new cultural and artistic developments
On a personal level, people with strong fixed sign placements (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio) may feel this energy especially strongly.
On the positive side, this can bring mental expansion, clarity, and new vision. On the more challenging side, it can create stubbornness, rigidity, and polarization of ideas.
Overall, Aquarius archetype invites us to think more broadly, see the bigger picture, and consider the collective good — even though it is a fixed sign.
Mercury Slowing Down: Review and Reconsideration
Mercury is traveling through Aquarius with the Sun, but as the month goes on, it begins to slow down and turns retrograde on February 27 (and it will be stationary on February 25 and 26th) .
This can affect and delay:
communication and negotiations (and business trade )
contracts and agreements
travel plans (delays or changes in plans)
technology and electronics
Toward the end of the month, it’s not an ideal time for major purchases, especially computers or technology. Instead, this period supports reviewing, revisiting, and being more careful with decisions, agreements, and plans.
Travel may also be slowed or require more flexibility.
Jupiter in Cancer: A Quiet but Important Support
Finally, Jupiter continues to travel through Cancer, which is a very fortunate position. However, Jupiter is still retrograde through February and March, so its positive influence is somewhat diminished The support is still there, but it’s quieter. We may not see immediate results yet, but the protective influence remains.
Using Electional Astrology Wisely
As we move into the day-by-day overview, I want to emphasize that electional astrology is best used for things that are truly meaningful to you. You don’t need to align every action in your life with electional timing.
This is simply a way to increase your chances — whether for a successful job interview, a surgery, an important purchase, or a meaningful decision.
Positive, Neutral, and Difficult Days in February
Positive / Supportive Days
January 30–31 – Very positive for fertility, emotional healing, investments, and financial growth, a positive time all together (Moon Jupiter conjunction in Cancer).
February 3 – Good for sorting things out, practical matters, and steady progress
February 5–6 – Favorable for career visibility, social activity, diplomacy, public speaking, and travel
February 10 – Good for growth, learning, travel, and investments
February 17 – Excellent for emotional connection, love, relationships, fertility, and financial increase
February 21–22 – One of the best periods for relationships, enjoyment, wealth, and tangible pleasures
February 26–27 – Strong Moon–Jupiter support for growth, healing, and investments (with awareness of Mercury slowing)
Neutral / Mixed Days
February 7–9 – Creative and emotional work is supported, but not ideal for pushing outcomes (Moon in Scorpio)
February 12–14 – Good for practical work and organizing, but not ideal for major launches (Moon in Capricorn)
February 24–25 – Mediocre overall; fine for routine tasks, not major decisions
Difficult Days (Avoid Important Actions)
February 1–2 – Full Moon: avoid interviews, purchases, and surgeries; good for inner work, spiritual practices
February 4 – Moon opposing Saturn and Neptune; difficult for bureaucracy and important starts (emotional confusion, emotional pain to heal).
February 11 – Moon square Saturn; especially avoid surgeries
February 15–16 – New Moon: emotional tension, low visibility, disagreements possible
February 19 – Moon with Saturn and Neptune; avoid travel, surgeries, and new beginnings
February 23 – Mars and Uranus afflicting the Moon; avoid travel, purchases, and investments
February 28 – Increasing tension as Moon opposes Mars
Final Thoughts
February is a very active and meaningful month, with more supportive days than January. Much of the energy is focused on the fixed signs, which means we may all feel a bit more stubborn or set in our ways.
At the same time, Aquarius archetype invites us to expand our thinking, consider different perspectives, and focus on the collective good. This is a month of mental growth, preparation, and transition.
I do expect even more positive momentum once Jupiter turns direct in March espeically in finances but also fertility and general increases.
